About Us

Billy and Becky Barton, the present owners, have for almost three years, taken their 30 years of decorating and building skills to bring the Winbarg Cottage back to its original grandeur.

From the colors that have been selected inside and out to add charm and nostalgia, to the antique furnishings purchased with the home, a feeling of warmth and hospitality invite each guest to come, stay and relax, enjoying a memorable experience worth returning to someday.

History of the Home

The notable architects of the home were Favrot and Livadeas of New Orleans, whose professional and creative skills are also present at the NSU Alumni Center, the old President Cottage, the old Courthouse Museum on Second Street and the women's gym (now known as the National Center for Preservation Training and Technology).
